Dr. Jian Wang serves as the Scientific Review Administrator for the Vaccines Against Microbial Diseases Study Section. She came to this position after participating in CSR's Review Internship Program. Prior to this, she was a postdoctoral fellow at the Laboratory of Immunology, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), where the focus of her research was on recognition of MHC class I complexes by Natural Killer cell receptors. She has also participated in studies on the function of cytotoxic T lymphocytes in virus infection and protective mucosal immunity against human immunodeficiency virus infection. Before joining NIAID, Dr. Wang was a visiting fellow at the Laboratory of Immune Cell Biology at the National Cancer Institute. She has also worked in the Biotechnology industry on study of antisense gene suppression of inflammatory pathways. After receiving a medical degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, Dr. Wang practiced medicine in China. She holds a Ph.D. in Tumor Biology and Immunotherapy from McGill University.
