Dr. Sherry Stuesse is an assistant director in the Division of Receipt and Referral. She obtained a Ph.D. in systems biology from the University at Albany, New York, and postdoctoral training in neurosciences and cardiovascular physiology at Case Western University School of Medicine and Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. She was a full professor in neurobiology and pharmacology at Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine, where she taught neurosciences (molecular, developmental, neuroanatomy, and neurophysiology) to medical and graduate students. Her research, which was funded primarily by the NIH and the American Heart Association, was in central nervous system organization, with emphasis on comparative studies of the brainstem reticular formation and on cardiac and nociceptive processing. On first coming to CSR, she served as a Scientific Review Officer for Developmental Brain Disorders, Brain Disorders and Clinical Neurosciences fellowships, and Small Business Grant applications study sections.
