Dr. Don Schneider, the director of CSR's Division of Molecular and Cellular Mechanisms, oversees study section clusters in biophysics, biochemistry, chemistry, genetics, basic bioengineering, and cell biology, development, and aging. He has been active in the evaluation and reorganization of study sections at CSR. He was appointed division director in 2000, after serving as chief of the Biophysical and Chemical Sciences Integrated Review Group and as Scientific Review Officer (SRO) of Biophysical Chemistry Study Section, Physiological Chemistry Study Section, and special emphasis panels. He continues as SRO for member conflict applications. Prior to NIH, he was a faculty member in biochemistry at Dartmouth Medical School for 14 years, during which time he discovered a vacuolar membrane protein pump in lysosomes.
