Dr. Michael Knecht is the Scientific Review Officer (SRO) for the Pregnancy and Neonatology (PN) Study Section in CSR’s Endocrinology, Metabolism, Nutrition, and Reproductive Sciences Integrated Review Group. Other duties include being a Referral Officer in the Division of Receipt and Referral. He has been with CSR since 1988, having previously been the SRO for the Biochemical Endocrinology (BCE) and the Human Embryology and Development-1 (HED-1) Study Sections. Dr. Knecht received his Ph.D. in pharmacology from the George Washington University. His research there focused on human choriocarcinoma growth in the hamster and its effects on pregnancy. Subsequent postdoctoral training was in the Endocrinology and Reproduction Research Branch in the intramural program of the National Institute of Child Health and Development with studies centered on ovarian granulosa cell development, hormone action, and gonadotropin receptor expression.
