Dr. Mushtaq A. Khan is the Chief of Digestive, Kidney and Urological Systems (DKUS) Integrated Review Groups and Scientific Review Officer for the Clinical and Integrative Gastrointestinal Pathobiology (CIGP) Study Section. He obtained his veterinary degree from the University of Punjab, master's degree from Montana State University, and a Ph.D. in endocrine physiology from Washington State University. Dr. Khan served as head of perinatal toxicology at the FDA; assistant professor of pediatrics at the University of Maryland Medical School; and head of the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Pakistan. At the FDA and University of Maryland, Dr. Khan conducted research in the area of cholesterol metabolism and atherosclerosis in miniature swine. He developed a computerized automatic feeding system (Autosow) for liquid diets for neonatal miniature swine. At CSR, Dr. Khan served as the project officer to develop an electronic voting system to be used at the study section meetings.
