Dr. Kate Bent serves as the Chief of CSR’s Healthcare Delivery and Methodologies (HDM) Integrated Review Group. She came to CSR from the Department of Veterans Affairs central office in Washington, D.C., where she served as Scientific Program Manager in the Office of Research and Development. She oversaw and fostered a diverse, scientific portfolio of health services research related to treating, managing and evaluating care delivery for chronic conditions, health professions education research, and nursing research. Previously, Dr. Bent held a clinical research position at the Denver VA Medical Center, where her work focused on transitions and caring for patients with complex chronic conditions. She was also assistant professor at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, where she taught Health Policy and Applied Epidemiology. Dr. Bent, a past president of the Council on Nursing and Anthropology, has published extensively in areas of clinical research, theory, health policy, public health, and translation and implementation of research. Dr. Bent earned her Ph.D. from the University of Colorado at Denver and is an advanced practice registered nurse with specializations in complex illness and home and community health.
