Dr. Ross D. Shonat serves as Chief of the Interdisciplinary and Molecular Sciences Integrated Review Group (IMST IRG). Previously, he served as a Scientific Review Officer in the Bioengineering Sciences and Technologies IRG, as the Director of CSR’s Asynchronous Electronic Discussion Initiative, and as the CSR Peer-Review Resources IT Training Coordinator. He is also a 2008 graduate of the Science and Technology Fellowship Program (ComSci) in the U.S. Department of Commerce. Dr. Shonat received his Ph.D. in bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania and completed postdoctoral training in microcirculatory physiology at the University of Arizona and neurophysiology and molecular biology using magnetic resonance imaging at Carnegie Mellon University. Prior to joining CSR in 2005, he was a biomedical engineering faculty member at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), with a research program directed at oxygen tension imaging in the diabetic eye.
