Dr. Lawrence Boerboom serves as the Scientific Review Officer for the study section that reviews cardiac- and vascular-related small business applications within CSR’s Cardiovascular and Respiratory Sciences Integrated Review Group. After receiving his Ph.D. in physiology, Dr. Boerboom served a postdoctoral fellowship at the Cardiovascular Research Institute of the University of California, San Francisco. He then joined the faculty of the Medical College of Wisconsin, holding a primary appointment in cardiothoracic surgery, a secondary appointment in physiology and also serving as director of Cardiovascular Surgical Research. His research focused on factors influencing myocardial blood flow, cardiac function and vascular bypass graft atherosclerosis. After 20 years in this position, he went to LifeCell Corporation to serve as director of research, where he led a team focused on developing tissue-engineered medical devices. |
