Dr. Eileen Bradley is Chief of the Surgical Sciences, Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering Integrated Review Group, and the Scientific Review Officer for the Medical Imaging (MEDI) review group. She received her D.Sc. from Harvard University in physiology/radiobiology, which was followed by postdoctoral training in nuclear medicine at Harvard Medical School. Her research there focused on the effect of Auger and internal conversion electrons on DNA. She joined the faculty of the George Washington University’s Department of Radiology, eventually becoming Professor of Radiology. Her NIH funded research focused on the effects of fast neutrons, used for the treatment of malignancies not well controlled by conventional treatment, on normal tissue, the dose limiting factor. She was also the radiation biologist on the clinical trials of fast neutron therapy.
